Qazi Muhammad
1901- 31.03.1946 3:10 AM
Arguably the one of greatest Kurdish leader of the
20th century, Qazi Muhammed was the epitomy of the word
"Kurdeyeti". Alocal Islamic Judge (hence the name Qazi), who became
the Persident of the Kurdish Republic of Mahabad in 1945-1946, this martyr chose
to stand by his homeland when Iranian troops invaded the republic. Thus, Qazi
Muhammed was treacherously hanged by the Shah of Iran. For the Iranians he was a
rebel, but for Kurds he was the hero and founder of modern Kurdish
republic (Mahabad).
